A Journey To The Cross

Station 2: TEACHINGS OF JESUS

As you start your journey with Jesus, you are trying to learn all that you can from Him. You listen to Him teach about the Kingdom of God and what it means to follow Him.

At this table, you will find a few object lessons about the teachings of Jesus. Pause at each one, read the Bible passage, and think about the object. What sticks out to you? What do you think Jesus might want to change about what you believe so that you can live by His kingdom?

MUSTARD SEED:
Hold the seeds in your hand and imagine how God can take something so small to grow into a huge plant. What does this tell you about His Kingdom?

DOUGH:
Work your hands through the dough if you're comfortable. Imagine God working yeast through the whole batch, that expands and rises. Watch the video of dough rising. Think about the way that God works through things we can't always see.

LIGHT:
Jesus says we are the light of the world! This candle represents that light. Try using the bowl to cover up the candle. Jesus says we weren't put here to hide our light but to love others boldly and share what Jesus has done for us. Uncover the light again. Think about what it means that God chooses you to follow Him and be a light to others. What does that look like in your everyday life?

Scripture Reading

Bonus For Kids

Read the Bible passages and look at the objects. Which one was your favorite? What do you think Jesus wants you to remember? Write it down! Then, tape a mustard seed to your book to remember that Jesus takes little faith and little seeds and grows them into big things for His kingdom.
