A Journey To The Cross

Station 3: MIRACLES

You have been walking with Jesus and learning a lot from His teachings. But you have also watched Jesus do several miracles: He turned water into wine, He has healed people, and He once even calmed the sea and wind with just His words. But now, he does a miracle that you never though possible.

Read John 11:32-44. What stands out to you about this miracle? Notice how much Jesus cared about Mary and Martha and their brother, Lazarus. What does that tell you about how Jesus cares for you?

Imagine that you were with the disciples when this happened. Imagine that the cloth on the table represents the grave clothes that Lazarus removed.

Imagine that, because of Jesus, this tomb for Lazarus was more like a butterfly cocoon. Jesus set Him free and now He has a beautiful story to tell about who God is. What does this tell you about God's power over your own life? Think about things that feel like death to you right now that you can surrender to God to let Him hold, walk with you through, and redeem.

Bonus For Kids

Think about how it would feel to be able to watch Jesus bring someone back to life! The white fabric on the table represents the grave clothes that Lazarus took off when he came out of the tomb. It is almost like a butterfly story- a caterpillar goes into a cocoon that looks ugly and dark. But just like the caterpillar turns into a butterfly, God gave new life to Lazarus! Just like a butterfly is a beautiful reminder of how awesome God is, Lazarus had a beautiful story to tell others about what God had done for him.

What is your favorite butterfly? Draw a picture! What amazing things has God done for you that you can share with others?
